On Friday, September 13th, we celebrated our third birthday at B_Space in Venice, CA. It was very fun.
The Inertia Party
It was hard to leave the taco truck - even during the super secret World Premiere of Martin's 5: Battle for the Beach. Luckily, you didn't have to.
The awesome B_Space team, Georgie and Holly, helping out with essentials for the evening. Beverages provided by Kona Brewing Company.

Did we mention that we've got some new merch? Well, we do! Surf Something Tanks and brand new beach towels. Available to purchase on the site soon!

Before. Zach Weisberg attempting to hang The Canvas Wave Prints on the wall.
After. The Silent Auction powered by the generous donations of The Canvas Wave with prints by Nate Smith (Top Left, Bottom Left, Bottom Right), Matt Clark (center) and Bryce Johnson (top right). We were beyond stoked on these prints. It was hard to say goodbye to them.
The Inertia's Reid Levin - an early #sharkattack photo booth victim. #1.
#sharkattack photo booth victim #2: Aaron Lieber. Luckily, Aaron got barreled WHILE on his Surfgrass Mat during the attack.

The Inertia contributor Jenny Stinson made it out with her friends.
When you see this face at this taco truck in Venice, you are HAPPY. Because, as the sign says, this is the best taco truck in Venice. Al pastor. All the way.

On Friday, September 13th, we celebrated our third birthday at B_Space in Venice, CA. It was very fun.
Three years ago, we nervously pushed the big red button for this interweb idea to go live, and in that time span we’ve grown tremendously. Now, we reach 200,000 people monthly. We have more than 500 of the most talented people in the world of surfing contributing interesting ideas, photography, art and opinions daily. And we love it.
On Friday, we premiered a collaboration film with Surfrider Foundation that we’ve been working on for nearly eight months called Martin’s Five: Battle for the Beach that raises awareness for beach access issues in America. We hosted a silent auction powered by The Canvas Wave of some of our very favorite photos by Nate Smith, Matt Clark, and Bryce Johnson. Kona Brewing Co. was generous enough to provide us with beer. Bradford Rockwell provided dance tunes. Designer Wyatt Conlon made us a gorgeous flyer. B_Space provided an amazing space and positive energy. The 200ish amazing people who came by provided love and smiles.
So, again, it was very fun to take an evening to celebrate. We hope to have many more. And don’t worry, we’re back to work now.
