This day was miserable at the US Open. In true Vermont fashion, it was raining. And I had to stand on the side of a slopestyle course wearing a trashbag not only covering myself, but also my camera. One of my lenses ended up getting completely ruined that day. But the rainy/foggy conditions made for an interesting atmosphere so I wasn't stuck just shooting your typical contest shots. These photos are a sample of images I collected during my years as online editor of Snowboarder. During my time at the magazine, I was able to travel the globe documenting the people, places, and action in the snowboard world. I wouldn’t have exactly considered myself a “photographer” at the time, since photography was only a small part of my job… but it was these years behind a lens that influenced me to take my camera and run with it.
