In this short, Emilie Uttrup shares a first-hand account of how learning to surf not only healed her but changed her life and her dreams.
Emilie woke up in a hospital bed one day as one of two survivors in a fatal car accident in China. She made two promises to herself that day: to never be afraid of traveling and to learn how to surf.
Nine years later, surfing has helped Emilie heal and it’s led her to pursue a new dream entirely. She now lives in Ericeira, a surfer’s paradise on the Portuguese coast. She’s a member of the Danish National Surf Team and travels around the world working for Lapoint Surfcamps. This is her story.
