It doesn’t have to be gnarly. In fact, it can just be joyful. After seemingly a month of snow out west, avalanche danger is off the charts. A lot of the steeps are unrideable. But that just means it’s time to enjoy riding pow. And the snow is so light and dry in most places, you don’t need a steep, dangerous angle to enjoy yourself. It’s all in the momentum.
