40 Hours by Train, 12 Hours by Snowmobile and 6 Bottles of Vodka to Ski Russia’s Ural Mountains

It all starts out of Vorkuta, a Russian village north of the Arctic circle that took skiers Felix Wiemers, Neil Williman, and Max Kroneck 40 hours to reach by train. Then they had to ride all day on snowmobiles to get to an old boxcar converted into a backcountry hut, just to access the Urals. “Out there,” doesn’t begin to describe this backcountry adventure. But at least they had vodka. And by the looks of it, lots of vodka. These mountains had never been ridden before and the snow didn’t look bad. But the adventure made this sweet little adventure flick from El Flamingo Films.
