Surfing’s not the only sport making its Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020. Starting today, at 1 a.m. PST, Olympic climbing will begin. The format is an interesting one, involving a combined score from three different disciplines – Speed Climbing, Bouldering, and Lead (Sport) Climbing – to crown one male and one female gold medalist. With athletes needing to master all three disciplines to make it onto the podium, there’s plenty of room for an underdog to snatch the gold.
