Apparently, young Albee Layer, Maui’s preeminent big wave charger and aerial magician, likes to mountain bike, too. Or at the least, he’s a very quick study. And, apparently, he knows how to get air on a two-wheeled metal horse as well.
Layer has been working on a film project with KC Deane, a professional mountain biker and big mountain skier who grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho. They’ve been showing off the island’s single track, working with surf lensman Daniel Russo and friends. But it hasn’t been all rainbows and dirt track. Check out this beatering that Albee took during the shoot:
