Shaping a Fish for Jordy Smith and Linking Turns in the Eastern Sierra with Chris Christenson

The man’s mountain retreat is also a great place for generating new ideas.

By now you’re likely well aware of low-key San Diego shaper Chris Christenson’s love for the mountains. When he’s not spending time building alternative shapes or tinkering for Ian Walsh’s big wave quiver in North County San Diego, Christenson can often be found in his Eastern Sierra hideaway complete with a shaping bay of its own.

There, board ideas flow like wine for Chris. It also happens to be the place he worked with Jeremy Jones to create a fleet of surf-inspired shapes.

In the video above, O’Neill takes us up to Chris’ home away from home in the Sierra. Dive in.
