River surfing is fun. People don’t really know how fun it is. Sometimes, it’s just cutback after cutback, layback after layback, then other times, a little mini-wall forms allowing more force to be applied to one’s repertoire. Dylan Graves, Andrew Doheny, Wade Goddall and Brian Iguchi make river surfing look really fun. Plus the water is straight run-off from the Tetons, not the oft-infected Southern California Pacific some of these boys are used to. The “Snake River Wave” is in fine form (That’s actually Lunch Counter on the day stretch of the Snake south of Jackson Hole on the way to Idaho). And despite the narration from the talking pizza in the video, the Lunch Counter isn’t that rare of a beast. It’s pretty reliable every spring. So surfers like Iguchi actually get pretty good on the thing. And there’s a lot more of em out there.
