Here’s Video of the Powder That Was Slayed This Week from California to Alaska

Seriously epic conditions. In September.

What a weird time we’re living in. Calendars marked, the third week in September saw some epic powder turns from California to Utah to Colorado. Any mountains above 6,000 feet in the West saw feet of snow from a serious storm that passed through, thankfully putting an end to the fire season in the Pacific Northwest and leaving behind dry pow that of course people rode. Here’s a rundown of vid that has filtered across the internet, starting with Josh Mann riding Mammoth, above.

Here’s another view of Mann in the Eastern Sierra:

Combining old snow from last year with some fresh accumulation for a full on September pow day! Lots of walking, moraine negotiation, and rock skiing also happened, but we won’t talk about that. @joshmannski

And of course, Alta was going off:

Alaska reveived a huge storm last week. Which Silverton Mountain Guides took full advantage of:

THIS WEEK in AK! Fresh footy of the first days of the 2017-18 season on a 15' base of snow. Big storm dropped another 6-8' of snow so far the past two days!! @skylarholgate @chris_coulter @jasonebelheiser @ph_je #silvertonmountainguides #septembersessions #alaska #sewardsessions
