New Zealand Skier Jackson Wells Lands First Ever Quadruple Cork

That’s a whole lot of spinning.

Jackson Wells, the youngest of the four Wells brothers (who are all freeskiers), landed the first ever quadruple cork on skis this morning in New Zealand at Cardrona Ski Resort. A cork is a maneuver where the rider is spinning while nearly inverted and is often considered the most dangerous of freeriding tricks. Triple corks were once considered unattainable by many riders but a quadruple? What’s left?

The Wells brothers’ father, Bruce, is an Australian who moved to Wanaka on the rugged South Island to work as a ski patroller at Cardrona in the 1980s so the boys were raised on the mountain. Eldest brother Jossi won gold at this year’s X Games in Aspen.
