The fires in northern California have been devestating. But sometimes, from chaos springs unimaginable beauty. This group of hotshots from American Samoa fighting a fire in California’s Trinity-Shasta National Forest was caught on video singing this beautiful hymn as they walked off the fire. According to online comments as reported by Hawaii News Now, “the song is called “Fa’afetai i le Atua,” which translates to ‘thanks unto God.’ It’s sung to the tune of “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”.’ Even if you’re not religious (and we have no religious affiliation), you can appreciate the undeniable power of music.
