Winter is here. People are getting powder turns all over North America. And it’ll only get deeper. But this is why it’s better to have friends on a powder day. In video taken a little over a year and a half ago, this guy hesitantly hits a small cliff at a resort somewhere in British Columbia and nearly meets his end. He absolutely disappears. But his buddy, who was filming on a GoPro quickly digs him out. This can happen when riding any type of tool, be it skis or snowboards. In deep powder, or a tree well. Best to ride with friends.

Snowboarding in deep powder can get you in trouble, even if there is no avalanche.
