Watch This Artist Paint a Haunting Mural Off His SUP Above a 30-Foot Waterfall

It was a precarious position, to say the least

By now, you may have heard of Sean Yoro (Hula)? He paints haunting murals in places where humanity has turned against itself. He’s depicted people like Angelina Jolie, using his stand-up board to balance on the water as he decorates the cement above urban waterways. The Hawaiian has also done commissions of legends like Andy Irons, below.

But this may be his most audacious project yet: ‘Maka’u,’ like all his paintings, is done with temporary paint. This one depicts a woman holding onto a rope as though she’s being pulled over the falls. We’re not exactly sure where the man-made spillway is but his painting again adds a raw beauty to an already stark, man-made structure.

You can see more of Yoro’s work, here.

Honored to be back home to paint the legend Andy Irons as a tribute for @lyndieirons and @axelirons Couldn’t have done it without the huge help of @billabong and @bruceirons – Always grateful for the overwhelming support whenever I make it back to the islands. Way too many people to thank for bringing this project to life, it really meant a lot MAHALO. @the_other_heff @rainoshayes Photo thanks to @duncanm
