Painting and drawing are two things I’ve done almost my whole life. I wish I could do it more, but surfing often gets in the way. I work a full-time job that doesn’t relate to art but allows me to live in Hawaii and surf world-class waves on a weekly basis. I’m not living the dream but I’m pretty damn close to it.
I’ve always been into drawing animals and turning them into characters. I feel like the possibilities are endless. I also like painting surfboards for people, including WCT competitor, Sebastian Zietz. They give me suggestions and ideas of what they want, and I get to run with it and turn it into something they can get stoked on. I’m also lucky to have a few friends that shape surfboards so there is always a new board to paint.
