You read that right. Seven to 10 feet.

As storms have brought much-needed precipitation to many parts of California over the last few days, it’s been absolutely dumping in the Eastern Sierra.

The dig out continues! It has snowed another 4-6″ since 6AM with very strong winds. ??Please note all of town is in R3 restrictions which requires all vehicles, including 4WD, to have chains on. Travel is not advised currently as storm totals reach 7-10 FEET since Saturday. ?@logan_sean

As of Tuesday morning, Mammoth Mountain estimates between an 83-to-123-inch storm total since Saturday, or about seven to 10 feet.

Main Lodge at Mammoth Resort is currently closed “due to heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions” an alert at the top of Mammoth’s website reads. “Operations will be limited today. Avoid travel if possible,” it says.

Another 2-3 feet of snow brings the current storm total to 79-117”! In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the resort explained that CalTrans had instituted R3 tire chain restrictions for the town of Mammoth Lakes requiring all vehicles, even with four-wheel-drive, to have chains on. No exceptions.

June Mountain resort has remained closed the last two days due to heavy snow.
