This week brought the first big waves of the year to Pipeline, just in time for the Da Hui Backdoor Shootout. It’s been an exciting event so far, marred by Kalani Chapman’s accident. I shot these images on a Nikon D800 with a 70-300mm lens f/4.5 zoom lens.
