The Da Hui Backdoor Shootout is one of the best events in all of surfing. It’s one of the best because it’s held in the best conditions and the competitors are the best Pipe surfers on Earth. And this year, it was no different, but no different doesn’t mean any less impressive.
Off Da Lip, a YouTube channel devoted exclusively to filming very good surfers on very good waves, dropped the edit you see above. John John Florence, Nathan and Ivan Florence, Mason Ho, Barron Mamiya, Jack Robinson, Balaram Stack, Reef McIntosh, Ezekiel Lau, Koa Rothman… they were all there, as were a whole lot more. And the display of surfing they put on was mind blowing, to say the least.
