Wiping out is part and parcel of surfing. If you made every wave you went for, after all, surfing would probably be a little boring. You have to pay to play, and the admission makes the game that much better. Although there are a lot of different kinds of surfers, there’s one thing we all surely have in common: we’ve all wiped out, whether we’re Kelly Slater or the worst surfer in the world. And if you surf on the North Shore, you’re well aware that the term “Hawaiian Juice” is a real thing. The waves have a little more oomph there than other places, but that’s what makes them so good. So here, in all their glory, are 18 examples of surfers (in the immortal words of Turtle) who were there when the wave broke here.
18 Times Surfers Were There When the Wave Broke Here
