Mexico has a seemingly endless supply of right hand points. I had heard a lot of talk about this wave and decided I needed to have a look for myself. A friend and I stayed here for a week and scored some amazing waves with minimal crowds. Also, we both agreed that we had the best fish of our life in this little town. Photo: Austin Robertson
Austin Robertson is originally from Monterey, California, where his passion for photography first began. He was drawn to surf photography because of the raw and rugged beauty that the central California coastline possesses, but the conditions for surfing around Monterey were often sub par, leading to a greater interest in landscape and surf photography. Spending countless hours driving along the coastline allowed him to explore the creative side of photography and focus on personal projects. Now he travels the world in search of perfect waves and empty lineups, sharing these experiences to inspire people to explore.
Here, Austin shares five lineups that took a little more effort to get to and score than your average wave. But as these shots and Austin’s stories prove, their “juice was worth the squeeze.”
