Alex Grey is a blur. One day he is in Tahiti, the next day he’s in Canada, and a week later he’s in South Africa. He doesn’t waste any time. I think he’s trying to catch enough waves for himself and his brother Chris, who passed away at a young age. He’s doing a good job.
I have always been fascinated by being able to freeze a moment in time. And being a photographer in Santa Cruz, California, there is no shortage of photo opportunities. California is pretty much the whole package. We have some of the most beautiful sunrises/sunsets in the world, giant Mavericks is just a short drive north, and you can find some of the world’s best surfers shredding around the dozens of rippable breaks California has to offer. This photo series features a few of my favorite shots over the past 6 months while ripping up and down the California coast.
