When Pipeline awakens from her summer slumber, things get pretty wild pretty quickly. The wave itself, of course, is wild enough, but when you add in the fact that some of the best surfers in the world live nearby and they all want a piece, the crowds can be even wilder. Especially when they know that they’re not going to be able to surf really good conditions when they come, because there’s going to be a contest in the water. They’re forced to paddle out early, scratch into whatever they can, and deal with the glut of other surfers, all scratching just as hard. The video you see above was shot by Off Da Lip on the morning of the Pipe Pro final day, and it’s clear that everyone was hungry.
A Super Crowded Pipeline Session the Morning of the Pipe Pro
When Pipeline awakens from her summer slumber, things get pretty wild pretty quickly. The wave itself, of course, is wild enough, but the crowds can be crazy.
