Did you see the Surfer Poll Awards? You might’ve, if you like that kind of thing. It’s surfing’s biggest night, after all–it’s like the Oscars, only entirely different. This year, they did something better than everything they’ve done in past years combined: aksed Albee Layer to become an actor. And although he is not an actor, he said yes, playing Rick Kane Junior in a trailer for a North Shore sequel. It is everything good and right and perfect in the world. Not as perfect as our red carpet auditions… but pretty damn close.
