Alex Botelho is no stranger to copping serious beatings. The guy makes it a habit of surfing insanely big waves, and anyone who chases waves of this size knows that wipeouts are inevitable. In fact, anyone who surfs knows that, but they also know that the beating is directly linked to the wave size. Jaws, in particular, dishes out some of the worst there are, and on November 26, 2018, at the Jaw Challenge, Botelho found out once again that there’s a reason why you hear big wave surfers talking about the importance of penetrating the wave.
