Check Out Blair Conklin’s Running Start into This Crazy OC Wedge

The Wedge is far from Orange County’s only mutant wave, and champion skimboarder Blair Conklin is the county’s resident mutant-tamer. Typically in surfing’s superficial social hierarchy, skimboarding falls somewhere just above bodyboarding, but with magicians like Blair, the inimitable Brad Domke, and oh, yeah, Tom Curren’s recent foray into skim, the sport has recently gained respect that’s long overdue. As it happens, Blair Conklin and Brad Domke are both pretty decent surfers, too. And here’s Blair getting running starts into some crazy little wedgy shorebreak.
