The North Carolina Collective

Located in the small town of Wrightsville Beach, NC, I have set out to capture nature’s beauty using creative image framing both in and out of the water. Escaping from life’s stress, I turn indescribable moments into fine art photography.

Spot X: 2011 Hurricane Katia AKA Queen of the Coast. You never know what to expect the morning after a hurricane. On this early morning, we were blessed with an empty lineup, great lighting and fun barrels. This was definitely a storm to remember and one that will remain in our hearts. Its path caused no damage to the coast and blessed us with some fun swell. Photo: Chris Frick.

Growing up in the suburbs of Virginia, the thought of one day becoming a surf photographer hardly seemed realistic. My love for the ocean and the lifestyle that surrounds it is what kept this dream alive.

I received my first camera two years ago as a gift from my dad and became hooked. Photography has become one of the most important things in my life as it has given me the opportunity to slow down, surround myself with nature, and capture images that are sometimes overlooked in day to day life.
