Clark Little Risks His Neck To Capture Menacing Shore Break Barrels

Clark Little, already a kamikaze Waimea shorebreak charger in his own regard, is the godfather of the shore break barrel photograph.

Remember that long period of time before GoPro ever existed? It’s hard to remember, huh. Well, not too long ago Clark Little, already a kamikaze Waimea shore break charger in his own regard, decided to start documenting the inner-workings of shore break barrels with a little point and shoot. One thing lead to another, a few months go by, and National Geographic is knocking down his door to run full spreads of this never-before-seen view.

Now, we see a lot of barrel shots from the water. But Clark Little, he’s the Godfather. The piece above is a response to popular demand – an extended second cut from our series debut of CREATORS: Clark Little, which was a VIMEO staff pick and garnered more than five million views in a month on YouTube. We hope you enjoy.

And, hey, pick up a camera. Maybe you’ll see your work in National Geographic next month.
