If you want a board from Derrick Disney or Ryan Burch, you’re two things: a surfer who likes boards that are a little different, and very, very patient. That latter trait is because Disney and Burch’s surfboards are in high-demand and they don’t mass produce them. They specialize in things like asymmetricals and bonzers, carving functional works of art from foam. Both are incredibly talented surfers, and, as you’d expect from any good shaper, they put the shapes they produce to the test. Watch above to see what’s possible if you’re super dialed into your equipment… and far better at riding waves than 99 percent of the rest of us.
