Few event recap videos manage to put a smile on my face. Scratch that. Only one event recap video has ever managed to put a smile on my face. Maybe it’s that everyone else is smiling, maybe it’s that the event is so damn interesting, or maybe it’s the first thing I want to do after watching it is go bodysurfing or surfing. Maybe it’s a cocktail of these. Whatever the case, Deus’ annual 9ft and Single Festival looks like an absolute blast, as evidenced by the video above.
What started as a longboard contest where competitors were relegated to 9ft+, single fin longboards has grown to an entire festival complete with music, a “fish fry” contest, and a bodysurf “womp comp.” The pièce de résistance is still the longboard contest. And damn does the annual gathering at the Canggu River mouth look like a rip roaring good time.
