In the last few years, giant, terrifying slabs have inundated the internet. So much so, in fact, that the casual viewer has become pretty jaded to heavy some of them really are. Surfing slabs has been a thing for a long time–much longer than the general surfing public has really had it on its radar–and Shark Island is one of the birthplaces.
