Grant “Twiggy” Baker is a very talented surfer. Of course, he’s best known for his big wave exploits, but Twiggy is a “just add water” kind of man–someone who can surf well on a variety of crafts, whether it’s under a kite, with a paddle, or on a giant wave. That, more and more, is a hallmark of a truly great surfer. But even the truly great surfers have to learn something new sometimes. “I enjoy feeling like a kook again,” he says. “Learning something new–and with foiling, if there’s a few people in the lineup, I’m at the end. I’m the worst surfer in the lineup.”
