This Surfer’s Deft Little Touch Takes Care of a Drop In

Getting dropped in on can be a tough pill to swallow. You don’t, we hope, spray spittle all over the lineup in a blind rage as you scream at the offender.

Being the victim of a drop in can be a tough pill to swallow. You don’t, we hope, turn into a mouth-frothing monster, spraying spittle all over the lineup in a blind rage as you scream bloody murder at the offender. But we understand if you feel like turning into a mouth-frothing monster, spraying spittle all over the lineup in a blind rage as you scream bloody murder at the offender. It’s just surfing, after all, and there are plenty of waves around the corner. A deft little touch, however, goes a long way, as evidenced by the surfer in the opening scene in the video you see above.

“Blink and you’ll miss it,” wrote Surfers of Bali on YouTube, “but a quick little touch of the rail was enough for the surfer on the inside to safely get around the drop-in and surf the rest of the wave without missing a beat.”

There wasn’t a ton of swell in the water, but the Sandbar at Canggu did have some fun runners. With the wind barely a breath, it stayed clean for most of the morning, and as you can see in the rest of the video, the surfers in the water made the most of it.
