Here’s What Happens When the World’s Strongest Man Tries Surfing

Eddie Hall won the 2017 Strongman event. Turns out being very strong isn’t conducive to surfing.

Eddie Hall is a very strong man. The strongest in the world, in fact. Eddie is the 2017 World’s Strongest Man. Since he is so strong, he’s also very large. Almost four-hundred pounds large. And although surfers generally don’t weigh 385-pounds, Eddie decided he’d give it a go while he was on a trip to Australia.

He was there for the now-postponed Arnold Classic in Melbourne, when his brother, who lives in Sydney, challenged him to try it. The pair met up with an instructor who was a little taken aback at the prospect of teaching a literal giant to surf. It didn’t exactly go all that well, though. I’m just too heavy,” Hall told the camera. “The board’s just sinking.”
