A lot of the time when you see a surf edit revolving around Hawaii, you’re watching massive waves and huge wipeouts. You’re watching the waves you dream about surfing well. But let’s be honest: not everyone can paddle out and surf Waimea or pumping Sunset. Not everyone can surf third reef Pipe. Not every wants to surf those outer reefs that feather in the distance. In the video above, Noa Beschen, Matt Wilkinson, Jack Freestone, Jamie O’Brien, Ryan Callinan and a few others get away from the outer reefs and bombing Pipeline and choose to get technical instead. And if you want a free lesson on how to really put it on rail, skip ahead to the 1:20 mark. Of course, it is Hawaii, so you can’t have an edit without a FEW thick tubes thrown in the mix.
