When a south swell showed up on the forecast last week, wave-starved Californians commenced celebrating. It’s been a long summer on the West Coast–basically one long flat spell. The forecast proved itself right on Friday, slowly gaining steam into Saturday evening. And, since Newport’s crown jewel thrives on a good south, everyone who loves the back-breakingly good time that the Wedge provides showed up.
