How Sage Erickson Went From Horses and Country Music to the ‘CT

Sage Erickson is a staple on the Women’s Championship Tour these days. But her ascent to the pinnacle of competitive surfing had unlikely beginnings. Sage hails from the town of Ojai about twenty miles from the coast. “For me, surfing was always a summer thing,” she says. And even when she started competing, she didn’t start winning contests off the bat. She had to learn, and grow. Eventually, she overcame and landed where she is today (currently #7 on the Jeep Leaderboard rankings). The video above is a little window into her story.
