Huge Maverick’s Bomb Sends Lineup Scratching for the Horizon

Maverick’s surfers have had quite the run this season. A handful of powerful swells turned the volume up at California’s most famous big wave, and with each and every pulse the surfers who frequent it showed up ready to play. Pete Mel, as you might expect, had one of the best waves so far, but he’s not the only one who wrangled incredible waves. But with those incredible waves come more than a few frantic moments, and in the short clip above from the Mavericks Surf Awards, the entire lineup shared one when the horizon darkened with an absolute bomb that had everyone scratching for the outside.
