There’s a lot to be said about a boat trip with good friends. Sure, you’re packed into a relatively small area, unable to escape them, but with any luck, you’re able to stand your good friends for at least a few days. Especially if you’re distracted by things like surfing and fishing. Duane Diego, Levi Slawson, Brandon Wahlers, Sam Weisman, Lucas Dirkse, and Jared Lane are good friends, and they had an idea: borrow a vessel called the Conquistador, pack it full of dive gear, fishing gear, and surfing gear, and head out into the wild blue yonder to chase waves and fish — yellowtail and big bluefin, mostly — across the southern California bight.
