They’re calling the swell from Hurricane Frank “the best hurricane swell in SoCal since Rosa in 2018.” And they’re probably not wrong. The storm has delivered far more waves than expected, bringing excitement to the US Open of Surfing and barrels to Newport Beach. In the video above from SoCal Surfer, the trek from sunny San Diego to Newport Beach looked like it was worth it with rip-able walls and deep barrels at Newport Point, 56th Street, and the Wedge.
