Kalani Robb. Here is a guy I never thought I’d see surfing the Lighthouse. Kalani was part of a group of lucky pro’s that stuck around after the Bud Light contest. I was thrilled to watch and shoot them. It was cool they got to experience the Outer Banks during a hurricane swell.Image: McCarthy

Injured. The ground swells were long and powerful and at some breaks it was downright mean! You can take a lot of heavy hits in the surf, but you'll get casualties.
