Erik Aeder has seen the evolution of surfing at Jaws from day one and is there every time it is breaking. This is an angle you don’t usually see of the lineup right at sunrise on a beautiful Maui day. I love this angle, because it gives a different perspective of how much water is moving out there. This is one of my all time favorite photos. Pure gold! Albee Layer @hipstersurfer808 looks on at an empty Peahi beauty, which is very rare nowadays. Sometimes photos can make this place look too perfect. It is a much different game when you’re in the water. I would have loved to been on that one! Photo: Tracy Leboe
This one was from January with my big wave partner in crime Keala Kennelly who has been an inspiration for me my whole life. Thanks for pushing women’s surfing to the next level. I’m grateful to call you my friend! Photo: Sean Ordonez
Peahi is the heaviest paddle-in big wave in the world, and our Maui crew takes safety very seriously. The @skullbase_everything boys are out there every swell keeping an eye on and watching over the best surfers in the world. They pull people out of extremely heavy situations and are always there to lend a hand when someone is in need. The whole crew are such great humans! Photo: Dooma Photos
Maui has been a breeding ground for professional surfers for years. The next generation is looking even more promising! If you haven’t heard of Tyler Larronde get ready, world! This kid has it all, rail game, punts huge airs, and is a standout at Jaws every session! Photo: Mike Stuart
Paige Alms is one of the best big wave surfers on the planet. Her recent exploits at Jaws put her at the top of a pretty short list of people capable of doing what she’s doing.
