Outer Banks Wonder: An Instagram Gallery

Attempting to slow down life in a picture and record some of God’s wonders is a worthy and enjoyable endeavor in my book.

I feel very blessed to have lived the surf lifestyle for so long now. I’m thankful to God for all that time spent traveling with my board. These days, if I take a photo with my iPhone, I’m trying to capture some of that thankfulness, or just beauty, or life’s in-between moments.  The Inertia recently asked me to contribute, and also asked:
Is that a new thing or have you always been at it? Your Instagram is pretty wonderful, but where was Matt Beacham photography pre-Insta?

I took a few pictures on my trips but was always watching what the photographer that I was traveling with was doing. I actually grew up drawing and painting, so that was my reference as far as framing and so forth. What I like about pictures was heavily shaped by the photographic eye of my good friends AJ Neste and Brian Nevins. Attempting to slow down life in a picture and record some of God’s wonders is a worthy and enjoyable endeavor in my book.
