Jamie O’Brien knows a thing or two about Pipeline. He’s essentially dedicated his entire life to the break, from growing up surfing the North Shore to winning the Pipe Masters in 2004. So it really means something when he says his most recent session there was the “gnarliest of the winter.”
The endorsement is even more meaningful for the fact that, by all accounts, it’s been an incredible season for the North Shore. February in particular saw over two weeks of an insane swell bender that pumped out firing surf – accompanied by a ridiculous amount of edits from local freesurfers and YouTubers.
“Today is real deal pipeline,” said Jamie, as he perused his massive board collection, deciding on what to take out.
