Bert Kreischer has been a fan of surfing for a long time now. By his own admission, he doesn’t surf well, but he’s always been interested in it. “I’ve always been interested in the allure of surfing, especially in Hawaii,” he told Kamalei Alexander on a previous episode of his podcast, aptly titled the Bertcast. The comedian/real-life inspiration for Van Wilder recently sat down with Jamie O’Brien for his podcast. A few weeks before that, he was joined by Nathan Florence and Koa Rothman.
