Jamie O’Brien spends most of his summer distracting himself from the fact that it’s not winter. He lives for the giant Pipe swells, and he’s become one of the best surfers at one of the best waves in the world. He does it without ever taking himself too seriously, either, and that lends itself to becoming a supremely popular YouTuber. It’s an avenue that most professional surfers probably didn’t even consider until Jamie made it an option, but an option it is.
Well, winter on the North Shore is officially here, so Mr. O’Brien has to distract himself no longer. Now, he’s up with the sun and straight into some ridiculous barrels. And he couldn’t be happier.
