Jamie O’Brien is recovering from knee surgery, so surfing one of California’s weirdest waves should probably have been something that waited a few more weeks. But Jamie O’Brien is Jamie O’Brien, and he couldn’t help himself. At least, though, he stayed on his belly.
He had high hopes of getting the best boogie board belly of his life, and the day certainly held potential. The La Bomba swell hit Newport just about perfectly to make the Wedge turn on, and all the usual suspects were there to enjoy it.
