Jamie O’Brien has surfed a lot of amazing waves in his life. The thing about a lot of amazing waves, though, is that they break over very hard reef in very shallow water. If you want to get barreled, you’ve got to be okay with handing over your pound of flesh, and Jamie’s okay with it. He called this Tahitian gem “the most shallow, scary reef in the world,” which might be a tad hyperbolic, but if Jamie’s calling it shallow and scary… well, it’s shallow and scary. But from the looks of it, the juice is worth the squeeze.
