Being Jamie O’Brien’s filmer is not a job for someone who would prefer to stay out of harm’s way. Inherent in the job is getting as close as possible to people flailing their way down/off of steep/tall things, be they waves, drains, or stairs. Such is life for Tomo, though, who took a fin to the head at Sandy Beach while getting the shot and ended up in the hospital. When he left, he did so with a bunch of extra thread in his face that wasn’t there before.
