Jamie O’Brien has watched the wave at Pipeline break throughout all of its moods. Big and small, calm and angry, perfect and not-so perfect. He’s explored the reef under the wave, explored the wave itself, and of course, explored every inch of its barrel. He’s sat on the beach, watching as Pipeline fires, oohing and aahing along with the crowd as surfers get blown out or get wrecked. He’s been blown out and wrecked more than most, and in 2022, Pipe surfers got wrecked a lot. Since there’s just about nothing better than a wipeout reel, Jamie decided to pick his top five favorite wipeouts from a winter that had a lot of wipeouts.
