John John Florence is a freak of nature. Kelly’s wave is a freak of the man-made variety. Whether you think the wave pool phenomenon is a good thing or a bad thing, it’s impossible to deny that John John Florence on Kelly’s wave is a thing of absolute beauty.
In case you’ve been living under a rock or perhaps under the shroud of secrecy that the WSL has covering the “event” at Kelly’s pool in Lemoore, California, this was a part of the WSL’s test event. And if surfing’s going to go the way of snowboarding (contest-snowboarding, at least) it seems like it’ll work just fine.
